Put down your roots with our new homes at Rayners Green!
We’re excited to be launching our beautiful collection of new homes at Rayners Green this weekend!
The 68 two, three and four bedroom homes in the historic village of Fordham, Cambridge, have been created in joint venture with Scotsdale Garden Centre, the local leading garden centre and plant experts.
Rayners Green, named after David Rayner who founded Soctsdales in 1968, has been designed to complement the existing architecture in the village. Each of the homes benefit from attractive characterful touches such as bay windows, brick facades and pitched rooftops.
The new homes celebrate their link with the Rayner family and designated biological site of special interest, Fordham Woods, with each house type being named after trees – such as The Birch and The Sycamore. The houses also boast landscaped front gardens, spacious rear gardens and paved patio areas, which green-fingered residents can tend to with the help of expert advice from Scotsdale Garden Centre that will remain fully operational. The show houses at Rayners Green will also showcase some of the products available at Scotsdales, including indoor plants, garden arches and bird baths.
The mix of detached and semi-detached homes will also include contemporary and bespoke breakfast rooms and kitchens with energy efficient appliances, spacious family bathrooms and master en-suites that feature dark wood effect vanity tops and heated chrome towel rails, and open-plan living and dining rooms. The four-bedroom houses also have a separate study, which is ideal for those looking to work from home more regularly.
Residents can enjoy all of the benefits of a quintessential Cambridgeshire village, including a thriving community that has historic public houses, green open space and a network of cycle routes that lead to Cambridge and Ely, a butchers, boutiques, such as an independent hat shop, which is worth visiting before a trip to the races, and a Michelin-guided rated restaurant, The White Pheasant. Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Fordham CofE Primary School is just five minutes away on bike, whilst Fordham Abbey, which plays host to the UK’s first Sake brewery and centre for Japanese Culture is just an eight-minute cycle away.
For our first 10 reservations at Rayners Green, we are also offering our ‘Put Down Roots’ incentive – we will provide purchasers with a Soctsdale Garden Centre voucher of up to £1,000, and you can also get a garden design service worth up to £180 paid for by us!*
We have established firm roots in Cambridgeshire and are committed to delivering more homes to help meet local demand and housing targets. Partnering with local businesses like Scotsdales Garden Centre is central to our business ethos and we are thrilled to be able to work together to bring high quality new homes to this already thriving community in Fordham. As part of our partnership, we’re also offering our first 10 buyers at Rayners Green £1,000 worth of Scotsdales vouchers and garden design vouchers to help them on their way to designing their perfect garden. Rayners Green offers first-time buyers, families and downsizers alike a tranquil setting to thrive in, yet is also just under five miles from Newmarket, where residents will be able to catch regular trains to Cambridge, Stansted Airport, Norwich, London King’s Cross, Peterborough and Ipswich. It’s the perfect spot for anyone who is looking to live in a quintessential English village but also have the benefits of town and city amenities.
As one of the UK’s very first garden centres, we have long enjoyed providing residents across Cambridgeshire with the products and skills to help bring their gardens to life. We’re therefore delighted to be partnering with Hill to deliver these new homes in one of East Cambridgeshire’s most sought-after villages and working with this new community to help make their new gardens flourish.
In addition to the existing garden centre and private sale homes, 21 houses and apartments will be made available through East Cambridgeshire Council. Eight £100K Homes, part of the Mayor of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority’s initiative to provide locals and key workers greater opportunity to enter the housing ladder, are also available at Rayners Green.
Once complete, Rayners Green will also be home to retail facilities and a variety of green, open spaces for residents to enjoy.
The new homes at Rayners Green launch on 27 June 2020, with prices for a two-bedroom house starting from £289,950. A Scotsdales voucher to the value of £1,000 and a garden design service worth £180 will be available upon completion to the first 10 purchasers at Rayners Green.
