Celebrations at Earlham Grove as works get underway!
Recently we were delighted to join Gateway Housing Association to celebration the commencement of redevelopment works on site at Earlham Grove!
Set for completion by May 2021, the new development will bring 78 affordable new homes to Bow – a combination of nine social rent homes with the remaining 69 homes available through Shared Ownership!
The 78 homes will comprise of 20 one-bedroom, 27 two-bedroom and 31 three-bedroom homes and will also feature associated car parking facilities, landscaped communal gardens and cycle bays.
At 0.5 hectares, the former brownfield site is just 150m from Forest Gate train station, providing easy access for future residents to Stratford Station or into central London.
The development is also set within the Forest Gate town centre conservation area as defined by Newham Council. The new homes will complement the existing features of the Victorian shops and surrounding semi-detached terraced housing.
The ground breaking ceremony was attended by Hill and Gateway, alongside representatives from Tranter McManus Architects, Rund Partnership and Airey Miller.
This marks the start of another strong partnership with Gateway Housing Association. Together we have already delivered 45 homes in Bromley-by-Bow, with a further 60 new homes in Bow due for completion before this Christmas. Earlham Grove adds a further proof point to this flourishing relationship and we’re excited about the prospect of bringing high quality affordable housing to the area.
This is a project has been in the works for several years so this milestone is particularly exciting for everyone involved. Gateway has a strong collaborative ethos – one that we share in equal measure with our partners, Hill. This development will be integral to the growth of the local community where people will be proud to live.
