Hill wins Housebuilder of the Year at the WhatHouse? awards
We were absolutely delighted to pick up a string of awards at the 2015 What House? Awards, including the coveted ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ award!
The awards, this year presented by comedian David Walliams, are one of the housebuilding industry’s most prestigious awards events. In addition to winning Housebuilder of the Year, Hill also picked up ‘Best Development’ for The Scene, as well as awards for Hill’s work on sustainability, joint venture partnerships and starter homes.
Achieving Housebuilder of the Year is a huge endorsement of the whole team at Hill, and the many great developments we have brought forward this year.
It was a particularly great evening for The Scene – our ground-breaking development in Walthamstow and a partnership with ISHA and Waltham Forest Council. The development won several awards including Golds for Best Development and Best Brownfield Development and Silver for Best Partnership Scheme.
It’s a development that we are incredibly proud of, and one which has helped to provide an anchor for wider regeneration in Walthamstow, with fantastic new restaurants and a cinema alongside stunning new homes.
We also received two awards for sustainability, including the Silver award for Best Sustainable Development of the Year for the Virido Concept House. The Concept House, which hosts the Rayners – our Be Zero family – was commended as a great example of testing sustainable technologies, to maximise both efficiency and functionality in the final development.
There was plenty of praise too for 243 Ealing Road, our joint venture with Network Living, which won a bronze award for Starter Home of the Year. The development, located on the edge of the Grand Union Canal in Alperton, has great connections to central London and offers Starter Homes for new home buyers under 40.
