Landmark development coming soon to Muswell Hill
We’re thrilled to announce our new joint venture partnership with Hanover, which is set to revitalise a prominent Muswell Hill landmark and provide much needed new homes for a diverse range of residents.
Hanover is the national housing provider for people in later years and the new development will see the Grade II listed former St Luke’s hospital and its six acre grounds transformed into 161 new apartments and houses in Muswell Hill. The development will comprise 113 homes for private sale, primarily aimed at the over 55’s market, of which 30 are allocated as cohousing. There are also 17 family town houses for private sale and 48 homes available for affordable rent or shared ownership.
The new homes will be built sympathetically alongside the existing listed buildings, with all of the properties set around landscaped gardens and courtyards. The iconic scheme will represent the first new homes in the north London conservation area for a number of years and as such we’re expecting a great deal of interest.
Andy Hill, Chief Executive of Hill, comments: “Research shows that downsizers in London can unlock £290,000 on average when trading down. However, the absence of suitable housing is preventing many from making that step. This diverse and particularly innovative development will start to address the acute housing shortage in this area, helping a broad spectrum of local residents, as well as revitalizing a local landmark.”
The homes are anticipated to be available from spring 2017, so keep your eyes peeled for further news!
