We were delighted to take part in a topping out ceremony at The Reach, a development in Thamesmead where we are creating 66 new apartments for Peabody, one of the largest housing associations in London.

Those who visited the development included Deputy Mayor of London for Housing James Murray, Teresa Pearce, local MP for Erith and Thamesmead, and council representatives. Peabody spoke a few words about what the scheme will deliver once completed, before visiting the highest point of the development to complete the topping out.

The new homes will all be affordable, and form part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Housing Zone. The Reach will also be the first Housing Zone scheme in London to complete. The Housing Zone scheme will deliver over 1,800 new homes and jobs in the Plumstead and West Thamesmead area.

The Reach, which will be ready to move into by summer 2019, features a curved brick building with a large communal courtyard that will have leisure facilities, including a tennis table. There will also be 375sq meters of commercial space, as well as scope for pop-up community markets on the weekends.
